Who Issues Carbon Credits?

Governments and private companies can develop projects that produce carbon credits, which can be traded. Projects which meet certain standards are verified by the two main governing bodies and registries: Verra and Gold Standard. It is very important that when considering purchasing carbon credits, that they meet one of these standards. That is why we only offer carbon offsets that have been accredited and certified by Verra or Gold Standard.

Carbon credits can be bought by organisations who want to offset their operational emissions and strive to be net zero. Purchasing them gives the organisation the benefit of investing in projects in developing nations, often benefitting local communities and their economy, while avoiding or removing harmful carbon emissions.

Similarly, individuals can purchase credits to offset carbon emissions from their lifestyle. Whether they travel and fly regularly and have a large carbon footprint, or buy local produce and recycle often, their activities will result in a relative amount of carbon emissions.
